Watchdog: strategy drift alerts

Linked strategies are re-simulated weekly on recent market data, and you're notified if behavior has shifted. It only alerts — it never changes your trading on its own.

Why it was added

A strategy you validated months ago may not behave the same on today's market. Watchdog re-runs the strategy you linked to an Autobot on recent data every week and tells you when its behavior has moved away from what you validated, so you notice before you would by looking at fills.

How to use it

  1. Open an Autobot's page and find the Watchdog panel.
  2. Link the Simulator run that validated the strategy. It is copied as a snapshot, so later edits to the Simulator strategy don't change what Watchdog checks.
  3. Turn on Watchdog for that Autobot.
  4. Every Monday it re-simulates on recent market data and emails you if it detects a drift.

When to use it

For Autobots that run unattended for weeks or months, where a slow change in market behavior is the thing you want to notice.

Risks and limits

  • Notify-only. It never pauses an Autobot, changes a setting or places an order.
  • It compares a backtest with a backtest. A drift alert is a prompt to look, not evidence that the strategy is broken, and no alert is not evidence that it is fine.
  • Backtests use candle data and next-candle fills, so they never match live fills exactly.
  • Weekly cadence means a sudden change can run for days before the next check.
